Anxiety and depression in children are reaching epidemic proportions in the UK - with disconnection from those close to us a major factor. ITV asked us to ignite a national conversation with our kids and create awareness around ever-growing rates of mental illness in young people. We invented a long term platform for mental wellness for ITV - "Britain Get Talking". In its first incarnation we paused the live final of Britain's Got Talent for a minute so that families could talk at home instead. We then sent the whole channel into moments of silence - encouraging people to tune back in to the stories in their living rooms. A silent ad leveraged talent and shows across the channel and dozens of silent promos ensured the message itself never went quiet. Britain Get Talking became the UK's most successful ever mental health campaign. I am proud to say the platform I created has become part of the fabric of ITV - supporting mental health through the pandemic and beyond.
Massive love and thanks to Nez and Pulse Films for helping us create our series of films.
